About JG Consulting

JG Consulting Structural Engineers was founded in 2015 by Jason M. Gray, principal structural engineer. Mr. Gray has been in the consulting profession since 1995 exclusively performing structural design.

Graduating from UCLA with a BS in Civil Engineering, Mr. Gray began his employment with a highly renowned consulting firm: Taylor & Gaines Structural Engineers in Pasadena, California. At this time he was exposed to a broad range of projects including school and hospital design, these projects were plan checked through rigorous agencies of DSA and OSHPD respectively.

Several years later, he gained employment at HDR Inc., a prominent architecture and engineering design group. In this arena, he worked side by side with architects, mechanical, electrical and plumbing engineers gaining a comprehensive understanding of all components of a modern building. As a project engineer at HDR he designed several complicated structures such as: an entire 6 story medical center, ER building, and Central Plant.

He also worked extensively with the largest developer of medical office buildings in California: Pacific Medical Buildings. After a slowdown in the healthcare design industry, Jason worked at RM Byrd and Associates focusing primarily on education projects with Tustin and Irvine school districts. He also assisted with several projects for Mt San Antonio College.

Mr. Gray eventually formed an S-Corporation known as JG Consulting Structural Engineers with the dream of becoming a top consulting firm in the Los Angeles basin.
